When i start a game or anything or quit one when i try to talk my TS will go to static. At first i thought it was because i was only running 512 megs of RAM, i upgraded recently with 1.5 gigs yet it still does it. So any ideas why my TS keeps doing this?

I have exactly the same problem. Beefy PC, 2Gb RAM etc, TS works FINE when not running games etc. However when I start something up (Battlefield 2, Live for Speed etc...) it goes haywire and nobody can hear me because of static.
Any ideas please??

I have windows xp, its not my sound card. All my settings are correct. I will be in game (normally
BF2 or CoH) my ts goes pure static when the map changes or usually when I get in game. I have tried numerous solutions including reinstalling TS. Nothing works the problem continues.

Sounds like the load of what is happening at the time affects TS. The problem is that there is a strain on your computer at that time.

I've been running the same setup for almost a year with no problems until recently. I've checked to make sure nothing crazy is running in the background and I can't find anything that would cause the problem

I have the same problem. When i use my mic on msn or stuff like that, it works fine. But as soon as i open ts, it goes staicy on everythink, even ts. Then when i close it, everythink works as normal. It worked fine for so long, could it be a conflict with my onboard sound driver?

Same problem, but my TS just does statics at startup, it's pretty annoying, I am thinking to try and reinstall the audio card drivers but I'm not sure it will fix it...
I am running on a DELL Inspiron 9400 with 2Gb Ram, Core due DUO T2300, WIn XP SP2 with all the Updates and possible addons (Windows Power Toys for starters) and all the drivers should be the latest, as I just formatted the machine and downloaded them all from scratch from DELL.
Just double click Ts link and it starts doing statics from the speakers, switch it off and it stops, pretty annoying if you ask me, and surely a TS issue (I play WoW, FEAR, LOTR:BFME2, AoE3, MOH:AA, NFS:MW no probs with any of them at all, both on the sound and on the video side).
Tried also reinstalling TS but won't do, how do I remove the codecs that it installs btw? it might be an issue with that...? As it reinstalls everything but if it finds the codecs it won't touch them...

Those of you that are having this problem... what sound card are you running? My roommate has the same issue and the only solution I have found is to restart TS or the Game. She is using a Sound Blaster Live! 24-Bit

I use Sound Blaster Live 24-bit too, only way i can fix it is by restarting TS. But i cant do that while playing all games
Sounds like the problem I'm occasionally having. I'd leave TS running in the background, and after a while someone pops into my channel. The problem is that when I hit the send button, nothing but garbled noises comes out, something I have to find out from the startled responses of whoever's in my channel or by starting local test mode.
Could be related to starting and stopping games, although I'm not sure. It's fairly annoying and can only be solved by closing TS, then starting it again. I've been using 'wave' until now, I'll try DirectSound for a while and see if it helps.
