Hi, I've used my mic before (bought it not long ago). I've recorded my voice, I know it used to work fine in the QUake4 voice chat system running in the game. I tried using it on TS, and i get a green light, but it only turns on if i hit the button to push-to-talk, and i get a d-d-d-d-d-d error sound, and no one can hear my voice. If i do sound activation, they can hear music my computer plays, but not my mic. Help!?

I tried doing the conrol panel -> detect audio devices or whatever, but it couldn't hear my mic either; i just got a bunch of static.

What o/s are you using win xp ? , i'll assume xp ,go to your control panel / sounds ,speech audio devices/ sounds and audio devices /then audio tab/ sound recording - volume / you should get recording control up make sure the mic box is checked, also look under the voice tab and do the same , check that the device in the drop down menu is the one your trying to use ie soundcard not onboard , another thing id check is that if your using mic as your recording control is that in advanced volume controls line in is muted, hope thats of help works on my setup .

Hmm ok have you tried messing around with the settings in the teamspeak control panel under 'setings' /optins try the different sound drivers wave, direct sound ect and the input output device, i know you've probably already done this but just double check that the mic is in the right socket especially if you have a 5.1 sound card , if your using a front panel on your case sometimes there not connected internaly to the motherboard or if they are, they use onboard sound that may be disabled in bios if your using a seperate pci sound card .
Under the settings tab when you open teamspeak up open the sound input settings option up what happens when you activate local test mode see if you can hear yourself when you speak when pressing the button you assigned to talk .
Only other thing i can think of is if your using a soundcard try the onboard sound( have to renable in bios first ) to rule out that there is a prob with the card and maybe even see if you can borrow another mic just to check that isnt broke ,other than that not really sure bud

Well I plan on buying a new mic for sure; thanks for all the help you've given me.

I've played around with all the settings quite a bit. And just as a sidenote, the mic is connected to my headphones which plugs into the pink jack and the green jack in the back of the computer, respectively.

Excuse the double post but i do believe it's working now! :D

I tested it with the windows recorder thingy, and got my voice relatively clear, and recorded with teamspeak and go the same thing. Aweosme! I'll try it out tonight. Thanks a lot man.
