I'm assuming that you are running Windows, which means that the text you are now reading took me at least half an hour to write. Linux users could simply use the "Jack Audio Connection Kit". If you are running Linux, ask Peter for more information, and thank you for wasting my time. :p

How about using an outdated, buggy, unrecommended TeamSpeak client version?

Version 2.0.29.47 is missing all the latest security improvements and is vulnerable to all the weird exploits which can make your client crash. But in my opinion, this is not really a problem as you won't use that client to do anything else than connecting it to your server. As long as you don't click on any weird channels or servers, you should be "safe".

The advantage of this old version is that it can be run even if you are already running one of the newer client releases. Furthermore, it does not have the frequency filter which filters the bass, which means that the music will sound a lot better. Nevertheless, TeamSpeak is not designed for music broadcasting. While it is difficult to hear a difference between the Speex 25.9 and the Speex 16.3 code in a normal conversation, you will clearly hear the difference when playing music.

You can grab the old version from the following, very very long download link. This link is safe as it will redirect you to the official download server. It just ensures that you will have to read the latest version of the license agreement.

http://www.teamspeak-einstieg.de/src/license.php?file=ftp://ftp.freenet.de/pub/4players/teamspeak.org/releases/ts2_client_rc2_2029.exe

There is one big problem which you might have if you are NOT owning 2 soundcards: you can't use different recording sources for the 2 clients if you are using the same soundcard. (At least not if you are running windows.) So you will either have to buy a second soundcard or you will have to find something similar to "Jack" for Linux.

You can now either spend some hours searching for and setting up something like this (there is some special "Jack" version for windows, but setting this up seems to be very compilcated), or you can pay for a quick and easy solution.

If you are choosing the first option: good luck.

If you are choosing to pay: the keyword is "Virtual Audio Cable".

For some reason which I don't remember, I bought the above software and it's working. It creates a virtual soundcard. Simply set your music player to use the "Virtual Audio Cable" as output device and set the same cable as input device for TeamSpeak.

That's it. You are done.

Why don't you just use a USB Mic adaptor for your Headset, and run your music through your sound card

You could Run a TS server and then stream a shout cast server into the server on a predetermined channel I think you'd want some pretty decent bandwidth to accomplish what you want to do.
