I have a server running on my home computer to use for a clan. The other day it got hacked, and was messed up bad. They gave themselfs SA, took away my SA, or unregistered all the users. But that was not the worst of it. They IPBanned me... from my own server, is there a way to have a safelist so that I can not get banned from my own server? Because after they left, I was still banned and no one could unban me, I had to uninstall and install TS again so make a new server that wouldn't have me banned. A safelist would stop me from getting banned or even kicked. Now on the new server I took away the options for SA to ban... but seeing how he got SA and I as an SA couldn't revolt it, yet he revolted mine, I don't think that will stop him or any other hacker.

Make sure that you are running the newest version of TS.

There is a file in the installation folder that is called whitelist. You should be able to add your IP there and it will not be banned.

As far as I know, this file just applies to the brute force protection.

The real answer to your problem is the TCP query interface, which allows you to execute commands on your server with your superadmin account. They cannot ban or modify your superadmin account even if they have a trillion serveradmin accounts. They would need superadmin for that.

You can read a short introduction here: http://www.goteamspeak.com/index.php?page=faq&id=4&item=37#q37

If they also have your superadmin account, you should really choose a safe password next time. To recover your account password or to create a new account, you can use a third party password recovery tool.

TeamSpeak server.dbs SuperAdmin Batch Utility (http://www.goteamspeak.com/index.php?page=3rdparty&id=1&item=16)

Furthermore, please consider updating your server to the latest beta version by replacing your servers executable or binary file with the updated version. The beta versions offer security improvements like bruteforce protection.

I have the newest one that I could find 2.0.19.52 I downloaded it the less than a week ago from this site.

i typed telnet.exe server_address server_tcp_port into the run command like that link said, it opened a command prompt for a split sec and went away... so i couldn't do anything.

I have changed the default password and the port address as well. Also I unchecked the public list... hoping that no one can find my server now unless they are told the address, port, and password.

Your joking right?

2.0.20.1, 2.0.20.1 Beta and 2.0.23.15 Beta (works good)

Did you try typing CMD in the run box? I bet it works better.

Q: How can I access my server via MS Telnet?

A:
This is very simple:

* Open your Windows start menu
* Select 'Run...'
* Enter 'telnet.exe server_address server_tcp_port'
* Type 'help' to get a list of all available commands

You might want to use a more advanced program that is capable of SSH connections, too. If this is the case, try 'PuTTY'.

they should say open the command prompt, but it works when i put it in the command prompt, not the run like it says. Thanks

also, i have that version, but there was no way that i knew on to check before.. so i used the last/latest version numbers on the changelog... which has 2.0.19.52 so i guess they didn't feel like changing anything for the newer versions... but i do i the new one
