I am posting on behalf of the guy that runs our TS.
He runs a small community and has provided us with a TS server for us to chat on and well we get rudely interupted late at nite by spammers, be it music or abuse.

Is there a way to create a channel so that only registered users can access this?
We dont want to put people off from seeing the server so the lobby is accessable too all and well creating a password for channels would leak out of the community pretty easily.

At the moment we have a few SA that move people into passworded rooms so they are out of the way until the spammer is gone.

Myself and TC *the guy that runs our server* were testing to see if non registered could access channels and they could passwords are the only thing that can stop them.
*read above for reasons about not wanting this*

Our ban list is capped at 10, we are not able to alter this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and will explain in more detail if I havent done already.

Thanx

Phil - Azzy (UKCS admin)

*sorted sorry for the post*

Well, if you don't want to put a password on your server, then I would recommend modifying the rights of unregistered users. In the web admin, you can set it so that Unregistered users cannot move into any channels... so you can make a Lobby to be the Default channel where everyone will go to, then have a Lounge that only registered users can get into. So if some punk comes in spamming then he can only spam in the Lobby, and with nobody to spam, he'll just leave.

The permission you are looking for is "ChannelJoinRegistered" under the Anonymous Server Permissions

The community TS server I help running has implimented a few things to limit unregistered users to one channel.

In the web admin, made it so unregistered users can not join channels, SA's need to move them.
In the lobby, changed it to moderated so even registered users without CA and unregistered users can only talk if give special permission to talk.

What I would recomend implimenting both, changing it so unregistered users can not move channel and setting the channels to moderated and giving people Voice rights in order for them to talk.
