hi

I've got TS2server setup at my place, with 2-3friends logged on with registered accounts, and I've got one myself, which I logon with. my friends can talk at the same time w/o worries, but when I try to talk and they accidently talk at the same time, it gets all echoey and screwed up, so everyone shuts up and waits a few secs, then start to speak again..

it's really annoying, the computer on which the ts2 server is on is pretty good, and my bandwidth is pretty ok, 1mbit up, since I usually just host 2-3 people on the server I think that should be sufficient, right??

any known problem, please fill me in, if I'm missing something, please tell me

One of Your friends (or You) use desktop speakers as sound output device.
You should all use headset to eliminate that problem at all.

actually I do, and I know it's stupid. but it's just because my headphones died, not the mic though.

but they worked for a few days after I setup the server, and if memory serves me right, we had this problem even then.

but to eliminate doubt, I will plugin a pair of earbuds to see if this is the cause

thanx so far

That also may depends on Mic (+20db) setting but that case looks very rare (also why I forgot it in my previous post)

ok here's the deal right now, I haven't tested with any friends Yet.

but I plugged in my earbuds and when speaking into my mic, I hear it through my earbuds..that's not right..is it?? I mean, why hear myself, by default??

mb I'm just stupid and this is the way it's supposed to be, but it feels wrong..

and I can hear myself in TS too, I just tried it..but that shouldn't be a problem now with earbuds..

go to the sound control and make sure to mute your mic.

The setting you have was to play what the mic recorded through playback. This is good for if you were testing your mic, but as you can see it is aggravating left on.
