Hey, forgive my noobishness but I don't have a head for computers and I registered on these forums about 7 minutes ago.

I'm at a university in the UK, and this university has a firewall that apparently protects us from the evils of the internet. It also protects me from the obviously very dangerous TeamSpeak client connecting to a server.

The odd thing is, Ventrilo works fine, and i'd use that except no one else does, so I need to find a way to get TS working while i'm here or i'll be cursed to a life of solo action in MMOs.

Apparently it has something to do with the port TS uses to connect, so I either need to change that port (if that can be done) or at least find out what port that is so I can ask the admins to unblock it. Or possibly, find a server that connects on a port that isn't blocked, except: 1: I don't know how to find that out, 2: I don't know what ports are blocked, 3: I don't actually know what a port is.

Is there a fast and SIMPLE solution to this problem? Thanks!

Your uni probably blocks some/most/all UDP ports

You could just talk to the network techies, and ask nicely for them to allow you to use TS

That would be the simplest

Other options then go to routing UDP over TCP to a machine not on the uni network, and having that connect you onto the server...

Gets a bit tricky
