I can connect but when others try to connect, they cant.

I was walked through with tech support from my ISP to open/forward the correct port.

After doing this, I am unable to connect.

My friends both use routers and have connected to teamspeak before.

What am I doing wrong? i have tried using both IP numbers when the TS server is clicked in the lower right hand screen.

Go Back TeamSpeak > [TeamSpeak 2.X] Support > English Client > General > I can connect, others cant

Should be english server.

What type of router and firewall do you have?

What type of router and firewall do you have?

No router (reg westell modem)

No firewall ... I'm using win2000 and from what I understood, there is no firewall used. Also I didnt have a firewall put in place.

It does not matter, you are the one that is hosting the server. Have you made exceptions for the UDP port?

What is the model of the westell, it does act as a router.

From what I could find out the westell model is Proline , and where I found the ser/ mod number, there was another sticker that said DSL router ..

As for your other question, I dont know how to make exceptions for the UDP port.
Is that the problem?

This is for your port forwarding if you have not done it during your talk to your ISP.
http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Westell/Westell6100/TeamSpeak.htm

If you have windows firewall then you can use this link.

The first link you provided was excellent and I'll look into it, the 2nd, firewall..
when I went to it , the banner said
Firewalling for the Microsoft Windows XP Firewall

I'm using win2000 - I checked my system last night and didnt find any metion of a firewall. I'll work off the web notes from the 1st URL you gave , try to connect and see what happens.

What address have you tried?

Try for TS client localhost:<udp port(default 8767)>

and in a web broswer localhost:<web admin TCP port (default 14534)>

You are sure that you have forwarded the correct ports to the correct computer and that there are no firewalls of any kind on your computer and that the server is started? If so, then I do not know why it is not working.

Yes i'm pretty sure this is set up correctly (the fowarding) so far I have :

Service Name *Teamspeak1
Type Port Forwarding
Port 1
Protocol TCP
Global Port(s) 14534
Base Host Port 14534
Port 2
Protocol UDP
Global Port(s) 8767
Base Host Port 8767
Service Name *teamspeak2
Type Port Forwarding
Port 1
Protocol TCP
Global Port(s) 14534
Base Host Port 14534
Service Name *teamspeak3
Type Port Forwarding
Port 1
Protocol TCP
Global Port(s) 51234
Base Host Port 51234
Service Name *teamspeak4
Type Port Forwarding
Port 1
Protocol UDP
Global Port(s) 8767
Base Host Port 8767
-------------------------------------------- I wonder if me listing 8767 twice is the problem?

Delete the ones that you have created before and keep the ones that you used the port forward website on.

cant all that info re: port forwarding go under just 1 saved entry? (instead of the multi lines I have)

not for your router.

I deleted all the previous config settings from past attempts and started all over.

I followed all the info from the website as follows: (from URL above , port fowarding)

14534-14534 base host port 14534 TCP
51234-51234 base host port 51234 TCP
8767-8767 base host port 8767 UDP

I"m a bit confused at this since from what I understood, I only needed to set up forwarding for 8767 only.

After wiping all the past settings, and putting in the above for my ISPs website , I still cant connect and and this point, at a loss of words.

I scanned the IP address and all of the ports were filtered meaning a firewall of some sort. It is easy for me to actually be there to help as I might notice something. I can not think of what is causing the problem as long as you have your configs correct.

Remove TeamSpeak from the Permissions of your AntiVirus (for me, that's Norton). Once you've removed it, try to connect. A prompt should come up asking if you'd like to allow it. Allow it and you should be good to go.

That is not his problem.
