View Full Version : Problems with my Sound Output
I use TS for when we play with groups in World of Warcraft, Ive used TS before I think it was like a year ago, without any problems, Now I started to use it again like a few weeks ago, And I keep having the problem that *Eventhough my Mic works in Skype or other programs* I cant seem to speak at a volume the average person can even notice..
I didnt mind a good chat with just myself at first but now I still havent fixxed it and its getting on my nerves;p I placed output level in TS on the Max but besides that I'm slightly computer retarded so didnt get any other brilliant Idea =)
if anyone has some advice would be more then welcome,
Start>Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Controls>Advanced>Options>Propertes>Recording(Make sure all boxes are ticked)>OK>Raise the level for the mic. and clicking advanced underneath will allow you to enable mic boost.
I hav a simular prob, using vista i hav folowd everything any1 has said, gone to all the menus.
There is apprently a custom tab in the recording section on recording devices.
I have found from Microsoft that this was removed when vista went from beta. :(
The main item in this custom tab was a tick box for, 'mic boost'. Now this has gone, i cant get that "umf" on my mic.
My mic works with other apps such as vent, but thats bcoz there is a output amplifier (boost) that u can increase ur mic volume with.
Is there any way of boosting a mic thru ts? i hav a ts server so if i need server permisions it not a prob.
Anything would b gd, cheers guys
I have been testing out some drivers, and it seem to be particualy Creatives drivers which causes this problem.
I've had a Creative blaster Soundcard for some time ago ... I upgraded my computer, and bought a Sandberg soundcard .. and experianced absolutely no problems (except it was crappy quality sound).
Now I changed back to Creative X-FI card, and the same problem as you describe has accured ones again. Other forums on the web seem to comfirm that it's a problem for some creative cards.
I'm not sure what to do about it however :(
I have a creative X-fi sound card. I have the mic boost option also in the windows. I have no problems with it working great. My computer is always kept up to date and I never have any problems with it.
