Your router probably wont support NAT loopback
And hence, you wont be able to connect with your external IP address, but you can connect with your internal one
i can connect to an external ip but people cannot connect to my server. but they have done before, all i want to know is how? i remember i typed a weird ip in and they were able to conect once i connected
Try this and paste the results.

Can we see your server.ini file?
everything ticked apart from HTTP section:
Performing UDP test...
» Establish a connection with the server OK
» Verify that it is a TeamSpeak 2 server OK
» Perform connection handshake OK
» Retreive a list of active channels OK
Performing TCP test...
» Establish a connection with the server OK
» Verify that it is a TeamSpeak 2 server OK
» Retreive the servers global information OK
Performing HTTP test...
» Establish a connection with the server ERROR 1
» Verify that it is a TeamSpeak 2 server ERROR 1
» Retreive the servers version information ERROR 1
You use your <LAN IP>:<UDP PORT #>if you are inside the lan, or localhost:<UDP PORT #> if you are at the computer.
Everyone outside the lan must use the WAN IP. Go to a site like whatismyip.com and tell them to use <WAN IP>:<UDP PORT #> to connect.

WAN IP = www.whatismyip.com
so i type localhost:8767 and people outside will be able to connect right?

no.
People from the outside have to use the WAN IP.
Your mixing things up here..
Localhost, consists of 2 words Local and Host, so it is local, what would you think that happens when others from outside your network try to connect to localhost? Right they connect to there own computer and get a error because they do not have a teamspeak server running.
LAN= Local Area Network
WAN= Wide Area Network aka "the internet" and the adress of that must be passed to others that are not inside the LAN.
m8 i no that i aint thick. i have the server runing they still cant connect! all ports open
What is the address to your server? What is your WAN IP?
What are you giving them to enter to access the server?
i am giving them my WAN ip to enter, NOT MY LAN. ip is mattyts.mine.nu and yes my router does support domains and yes i have registered it. is there any more ports i should open?
Set up your server back to what you had to get the test to say the udp port is correct again. Leave it up and I will see if I can connect.
Then go to www.whatismyip.com once more and make sure that your wan ip has not changed from 172.189.196.177.
The udp port is 8767 correct?
Some times the client may put something in wrong, or know what is required.
ok its up and running same ip, if the ip changes mattyts.mine.nu will still work thats why i use that domain.
thanlks
I am connected.

FSX
The people that are trying to connect probably do not know how to use ts.
Make sure that they are using "mattyts.mine.nu:8767" for the address.
Also make sure to update your server to 2.0.23.15 BETA.

BHKai, I think that 8767 is a default port >.>
No need to specify it in connection string.

I always put it, habit of having multiple servers.
If you need help with setting up your windows firewall with the correct exceptions here the link.

All you have to do is the UDP port part of the steps if you want.
