I downloaded a server client and followed the directions in the tutorial, but when I try to connect to the server, I get:

[22:17:08] No reply from server
Maybe the server is offline
or maybe teamspeak is not running on it

I can see that the problem is that the server isn't being hosted on my computer. How do I set it up so that teamspeak will run on my PC and host the server?

If you install it on your computer it will run on your computer.

Well, it DOESN'T. I meet all system reqs. I installed TS and TS server. I loaded up TS Server, and followed the instructions in how to customize my server. But when I or my friend try to connect to it, it doesn't work. I get the error message posted above. So, why is TS Server not being hosted properly on my PC? Is there some "begin hosting" button or something that I am missing?

Have you configured your firewall, and port forwarding settings.

Make sure that in the webadmin that you start the server or there will be no servers.

I did use the webaccess to configure the server. I then loaded TS Server. When I search for my server in the base client, it shows up. Problem is, it just doesn't connect. It believes that TS isn't running. Same thing happened when I tried to connect to a friend's server that he was attempting to set up.

Try using localhost or the lan ip, as most routers have NAT redirection off by default.

Try using this to test if people outside your lan can connect.

It is your port forwarding and firewall settings that are most likely keeping your server from being able to be access by other computers.

Yeah, it's the ports. Thanks for your help.
