i can log on and i can hear everyone but as soon as i speak my sound just echos like i am in a cave any help would be appreciated

I get this except the opposite. I can talk and no echo but when people talk they echo through my mic even when the volume is turned al the way down.

I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have a program other than the default windows that controls sound?
