Like the title says. I try to explain this the best I can. This happens about 30min to 1 hour. I hear a popping, screeching, sizzling, static noise that will come on. Its so loud it drowns out my clan members, can't hear them. Then I cant speak. I have to min. Close TS out. Go back into the game. The sound continues but not as loud. Then it will stop. Then I min, restart TS. I will be good for another 30min to hour. Then repeats. Also, this is new. After I turn TS off, go back in to the game, the sound wont stop, then my PC crashes to reboot itself. Really strange

My PC specs are: Windows XP pro. AMD 64 FX-60 Dual Core, X-Fi Fatality, 3gigs ram. Also read in another thread people think its a G7 and G15 thing. I have them both. My talk key is the alt on the G15. I do not have anything set TS with the G7. Also I have the G15 TS installed.

I tried reinstalling my drivers. Didn't work. I was running SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_09_0007 sound driver. But went back to the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi series Driver 2.07.0004. That almost worked. Was good 3 hours in, then it started again. I have no idea what else to do. I hope someone hear can help. THANKS!!

Someone in the clan suggested to turn it off. I did, and it didn't help

The other thing that I have seen to work is to put the game and ts of different affinities. Task manager>processes>right click >set affinity.

Do I set the affinity to both programs or just one? I will try this tonight

See if it works for just TS as BF2142 will need more processing power and might need both.

Did not work. Any more suggestions before I take a double barrel shotgun to my PC?

Actually no, the affinity was something that people claim to work to solve problems. I do not believe that actually but it was worth a try.

What it sounds like to me is that there is a very low sound that is always there. That sound is picked up by the mic and then replayed just a bit louder. As it continues it will get louder and louder. If it is progressive like that, I would recommend trying a different mic, but just to test. Do not go out and buy a top of the line as I can not be sure.

My creative x-fi has yet to get me any problems. Even when I upgraded to vista business.

Thinking about it the noise dose start low and gets louder. If it was the mic I am using, wonder what it was to make it go bad, or cause this issue. I never had this problem with the sound card either, Just with this game. I can be in TS with other games, works fine. When I get a chance I will try a different mic, and see what happens. Got GRAW2 today and will be playing that.

I never really "fixed" the problem, but made some changes in sound options. I selected hardwear and put the sound to high, Had it selected on Creative X-fi and sound was on Ultra high. Since I did that the problem went away.
