Hello everyone, newbie here.
I have not installed my TS server yet so I am curious to which is the better,,this Linus or the Windows server?
I am going to be using it on a virtual dedicated server provided by my web hosting company, and the offer both.
Anybody tried both and have found one more dependable than the other?
By the way how can one make it private, not open to the public?
Thanks

If you are willing to learn go Linux, much more stability. If youre the lazy kind of guy, then windows would suit.
By the way how can one make it private, not open to the public?

Taking the check mark out of the list public box will stop your server from appearing on the ts client web list. Only people that know the address will know about your server.
or
http://docs.teamspeak-einstieg.de/manual-eng/webadmin_serversettings.htm
You can leave your server there and make a password that is required to enter the server.

Thank you both for the replies..very helpful
BHKai.. now that's what I'm talking about! thanks :)
GFR: As far as linux, all of my domains are linux hosted.so I do have at least a working knowledge of setting up..however that is hosted..not the dedicated I am going to use for TS
I hope that is what you mean by learn, and not writing a script ... lol
I also agree about stability (not as many problems as I had with windows) however is linux response time as fast as windows? I have heard that voice and linux do not play well together.

Server only transmits packages so no worry's about the sounds.
And ya, i ment for setting it up and maintaining it. You shouldnt have to write scripts to be able to get it working..
