Iīm helping a friend of mine with TS problem - no one can hear him (mic boost is already on) and he hears everyone. We communicated with skype call. He has WinXP, Realtek HD driver and TS works well only when we are talking with Skype - the green indicator works and I can hear him doubled (skype + TS). After hanging up the skype call does not TS work again - I canīt hear him. With Push - to - talk is there the same problem - it works well only together with skype call. I canīt understand it.

Ask him to switch between wave and direct, and to specifically pick the mic for the input device to see if that works.

Yes, all can hear him well and he hears us. But only when we have a skype call. Without skypecall does not TS work!!!

I would believe that skype is setting up the audio settings that he needs and that ts is piggy backing off the settings. Once skype closes the settings go back to what they were. Ask him to check the recording settings while he is not running skype.

Start>Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Controls>Advanced>Options>Propertes>Recording(Make sure all boxes are ticked)>OK>Tick the One for microphone>check that the volume level is all the way up>advance tick the mic boost.

Iīll visit the friend on Friday and Iīll try it alone. He donīt understand his PC enough, he never had PC before. And Iīll try to install last Realtek HD drivers too.
I read that a lot of people have problems with Realtek HD driver and its microfon input. They fix their problems with another one (older) soundcard using it only for microfon input. I donīt believe itīs the only solution this problem. I hope...

We fixed the problem! We turned off the integrate soundcard at BIOS. Uninstalled Realtec sound utillity. Then we tryed to install an olderly PCI soundcard, but PC took it not. We didnīt have so much time to solve this problem. So we turned on the integrate soundcard again, installed the Realtec utillity and used the same realtec sound drivers as was using before. And it works!
Just restart what could be restarted !!! We didnīt have to reinstall TS.
But thank you for helping.
