I have a home hosted teamspeak server, and I'm having problems with others connecting to it. It let's me connect, but when others try it says it's not available. How do I fix this?

First of All they need to Connect Via the External IP address
http://ipchicken.com/
click the link and this is the IP you will need

Also make sure that you have PortForward Correctly
Go to http://portforward.com/routers.htm
Find your Router and click on it
Then Find Teamspeak
Then you will be directed as to fix your Forwarding problem

Also make sure your firewall is alowing the Program

It's Embarq, but it doesn't say the brand on it for some reason.

There are no stickers, text of any kind. Embarq is a isp not the company that makes the router.

I did a little quit research and came up with that embarq will send ZyXel 660R to their customers. Which means that this should do the ticket. http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/ZyXEL/EQ-660R/TeamSpeak.htm

Could you get a screen shot of your portforwarding settings?

From my modem?

Yeah. It would be the only thing that is stopping you if you have the firewall turned off.

Do I just login on my modem and show you port settings or what?

Login go to the port forwarding settings and press printscreen on your keyboard. Go to a program like paint and choose edit>paste. Save load to a place like photobucket and post the link here.

Am I supposed to add an IP address in there too? On the parts where I have to add the ports to my modem thing?

O.o

At modem side, You should create links for Your services.

[service_port] -> [Server_LAN_IP]:[service_port]

Where service_port at left side will be automatically filled by WAN_IP_autodetected_by_modem each time it set up an Internet connection. So Your mates can connect to WAN_IP_autodetected_by_modem:service_port and came to Your Server_LAN_IP:service_port to talk with You.

The 0.0.0.0 for each of the ports should be the lan ip of the server.

0. Do NOT expose Your TCPQuery port to WAN if You not know what You doing.
1. 0.0.0.0 is NOT a valid host name address.

First two strings and correct IP addreses in it should be enough.

Afterall, I have reading ZyXEL documentation just now... It's rather f**ed device made through rear entrance... :-\ I never saw such monstruous and unusable construction. For the same price I'll get Linksys or trendnet router.

Right click on the server icon and put in the ip that there is a computer next to it.
