View Full Version : Remove Teamspeak Codecs
Hi,
Could anyone tell me where teamspeak installs its codecs to.
I would like to remove them (have already uninstalled teamspeak server) as i think they may be causing a problem with watching movies on my website.
Thanks.

You still use the client? Then it wouldnt be wise to remove them.. Since you wont be able to use TS at all..
I'd suggest to look into your flash / mediaplayer or whatever is uses for updates etc..
If you have xp you might be able to remove them if you go to the device manager and check under the sound controls.

LOL
Probably You should pay for Your ISP to get better internet connection?
P.S.
Not TS server nor TS client do not install any system-wide codecs.

I have no idea what you are trying to say with that statement....
Hi guys,
thanks for your help.
I do plan to use the teamspeak client at a later date but for right now it isn't a priority.
The server has been uninstalled so the client isn't important :)
So teamspeak doesn't update any codecs on the system? I didn't see them stored in the teamspeak server dir so i was wondering where it got them from.
The movies worked fine prior to installing the teamspeak server. It may not have anything to do with the problem because i also installed a teamspeak tracker plugin on the website at the same time.
Just checking into a possibility.

libspeex.dll <- At least one codec found easily.

Ah that means Your own website? Of course, server codecs can't interfere with movies downloaded from it. Looks like You do something wrong with website at the same time when You install TS.

Yes it does, if you dont have the CELP and Speex codec it will install it on your system. Do fresh install of XP and install TS then.. look closely to what is getting installed
OS type: Windows NT 6.0
Found CELP file entry.
Found CELP desc entry.
CELP file not found.
Succesfully copied lhacm.acm(CELP)
Created/updated CELP file entry.
Created/updated CELP desc entry. That happens when I delete a file called . It took me a while to find that file. Had to find the time that I installed then look at ever file installed at that time. It did not help that there were other programs that I installed that day. I get you are wondering what file. I do not know if I should tell you. :D Okay, fine. It is called lhacm.acm. Can you guess what acm stand for? Audio Compression Manager Driver
WARNING: That is the only file put in by TS. You delete other .acm files ts will not install them.

That makes some sense... But I forgot when I install TS last time. I have some OS crashes recently and it many times reinstalled after that :-X
