Noticed an unusual problem....

I have 3 computers on my home network each with a different version of Windows

Win2003 Server
WinXP
WinVista64

Traditionally i've ran the TS server on the Win2003 Server and occasionally one regular user couldn't log in... i'd either restart the server and he could connect again although occasionally i'd have to restart the whole computer. Since i've phasing out that computer i switched the TS Server to my WindowsVista computer... seems to work great except some (not all) of my regular guildies cannot connect.... I couldnot fix this with by restarting my TS server or system. the funny thing is it's not the same people who are having problems connecting to the different servers on the different computers.

I've therefore installed it on my WinXP computer and I haven't found anyone who couldnt' log in yet /crosses fingers

I only have one server up at a time and make the appropriate port forwarding changes within my D-link router. People are getting the "cannot connect error".

Anyone else notice a problem like this and/or have a solution? I've since bought a new router (not yet installed) to try to remedy the situation and will post a reply if it worked.

Thanks

I have server on Win2k3 and never heave heard that someone cannot connect to it.
TS may have problem running on 64-bit system, but troubles with Win2k3 looks strange. Sure You have router configured properly? NAT firewall filtering etc.?

D-link is not a friend of TS. Check your firewall and other settings of your d-link router. Explore and try reading the documentation to see if there are other settings that conflict. I do not have a d-link router so I can not help much beyond this point, but a lot of people have trouble with them.

A lot of people have heads without brains. That's all what I can say in this case.
Please stop making suggestions from other's problems and someone else experience.
I'm sure You have enough Your own experience to be sure that 99,(9)% of problems posted around this from came from badly readed documentation and noncareful system configuration.
I saw many D-Link routers along with netgear, linksys and other... From that all heap of hardware only one low-cost router was fail from proper working and been trown to trashcan. It was zeoncom ipTimeVE which is "not exists" even on manufacturer's website.

Just to follow up on this.... i changed my router to a Belkins from the D-link and absolutely no problems so far using TS Server on a Windows Vista platform.

I guess D-link isn't TS friendly.

thanks for the suggestion BHKai
