Alright, let me just get some things out of the way first. I apologize if this has been asked before in other threads, but I looked around, and didn't find anything that has helped, and don't want to bring my problem into someone else's thread either.

I am muted, and it has refused to let me unmute myself. Yes, I have tried. Many, many, many times. I've tried everything I've read. I went into my advanced volume settings on my computer, I muted the microphone on playback, and made sure it was unmuted on record. I've tried switching the setttings in TeamSpeak from Wave to Direct Sound, that doesn't help, I've tried marking the box below compatibility. I click apply, ok, go back to settings, it didn't even save what I changed.

What confuses me is that I can hear perfectly, and when I don't have playback muted, I can ever hear my own voice in the headset's speakers. It records just fine on MSN too.

If anyone is willing to help me, I would be forever in their debt, I have been wanting to speak to a good friend of mine for a long time now. The only thing I can assume will help is downloading a different driver for my sound card, thinking maybe that's why it's messing up. The problem with that is, the soundcard that was installed was from a different computer, and I don't know what it is. If there's a way to figure out what it is through searching my computer, knowing this method would be fantastic. I tried opening it up, there is no name on the card.

If that isn't the problem, please enlighten me, and thank you for reading.

Make sure to update your drivers and make sure that you have the correct input device selected in the TS settings.

Okay, I tried to update every driver in the following picture. It told me, for every one of them, that it was unable to update because of not being able to find something better than what I have, or some such nonsense.

If there is a driver I am missing, that I should have, tell me what it is, and I will search it on Google.

Now, for the situation of my input device, I might not be understanding you. Now, I opened up Sound Input/Output Devices in the Teamspeak settings, and selected everything in the drop down list for Test Codecs, none of them produced a voice when I clicked activate. I have playback muted in my computer's microphone settings, but I don't think that's the problem here, and yes I'm sure it's playback that's muted.

If you suggested something I understood wrong, please be more specific.

Thank you for your help.

Update: Okay, I think I know what you meant. I went into Options, and double clicked the only device that was under Input Device. ESS AudioDrive. I clicked Apply, and before I could click Okay, I received this error message.

1.) Is this the cause of my problem?

2.) Can it be fixed?

Try using direct, which is shown as an option in that picture.

A side note:
It is best to go to the manufacturer of you audio card and download compatible drivers from there.

When I select Direct, click apply, click ok, close the settings, and go back to the settings, it switches itself back to Wave. I've set it to Direct multiple times, exited the settings, gone back, and it never stays on it.

As I previously said, I am unaware what my card's manufacturer even is, and if there is as way to find this out through my computer's settings, let me know, because taking the computer apart did not reveal anything to me.

Sorry to bump a fairly old subject, but the situation that I am in is very similar to this, everything is the same but I am not able to use the mic in MSN at all, it also cannot be my mic because it works fine on my other computer :)

Tips, solutions would be greatly appreciated, thank you. :)
