View Full Version : Teamspeak and WoW...again

I've seen several threads on this topic, but none with the specific problem that I have. My teamspeak client works fine while playing any game, even resource-heavy games like Unreal Tournament 3, Portal, CoD4, etc. However, when I load WoW and attempt to transmit anything over ts2, the transmission is extremely choppy. It stops the second I close WoW, and to some sounds as if I am lagging really badly (even though my connection is steady with no PL). I have actually noticed that I am having the same issues in Skype and Ventrilo, so I realize that ts2 forums aren't technically the place to be posting, I just feel like someone with an understanding of sound issues could possibly help.
Any help would be appreciated.

I run World of Warcraft on my Alienware Laptop Aurora M9700 AMD Turion 2.21 GHz, 2 GB Ram, 9700 Nvidia 7900 256 Meg graphics card, and as far as I can tell a SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio card.
When I run TS on the laptop, I can hear people just fine. But as soon as I run WoW with TS in the background, every time I hit a button on the keyboard, the sound gets extremely choppy and distorted. Switching to Direct Sound seems to only make people's sound staticy as well. My wife's computer seems to have no problems running TS and WoW at the same time, standard fare Windows XP tower PC. At the moment I am forced to use the Beta Mac TS on my G5 Tower in order to play the game on the laptop if I am to hear anyone clearly. Please let me know if there is something I need to change in the laptop's sound settings or the TS settings to fix this. I have checked and to the best of my knowledge all the drivers are up to date and using the latest TS 2 client software. Thank you.
TS and Wow have never been friends from my knowledge. All I can say is ask on some Wow forums about it.
