I'm running version 2.0.21.1. I've uninstalled it and installed the 2.0.23.15 BETA but when I check the version it's still the old one. What am I doing wrong. We're connecting through a game host server. Does that matter?
Well thats the old version, they don't use the beta any more
Here is the download page for the new program.

I tried it again. I get the same message. "Installation complete, No new codecs installed. I still have the old version installed. So now what?
Are you running the TS program? Do you have admin permission?

I want to update 2.0.21.1 and I downloaded TeamSpeak 2 Client Version 2.0.32.60
SHA1: 666c23e4bf275d109475f03821790b9268f94ae0
MD5: 3c9d1bf8dfd3e257e536f0b87fbec00a
To be more specific you are trying to update 2.0.21.1 server version with 2.0.32.60 client version.
You need to download 2.0.24.1 server version. The client executable does not overwrite the server executable.
