When I talk on TS the mic makes a very loud, repeating sound. This has happened before and I have NO idea how I fixed it in the past...

The mic works fine when I use it not on TS... just TS seems to produce this sound that my friend described as "chubaka (spelling I know bear with me) inside a windtunnel". Not sure how to solve it. I futsed with all my settings and cannot seem to figure it out. Close to moving over to ventrilo!

Let me also add- with the mic MUTED on my headset cord, it still makes this noise...

I believe I have a similar problem. When I talk to my mic while using TeamSpeak in Local Test Mode I keep getting repeating echoes of what I said. When I connect to the TS server and hear someone speaking (on a headset, no speakers) - I send it back to the channel together with some static.

My specs:
- Win XP 32 Professional SP2
- SB X-Fi Xtreme Gamer
- using front panel jacks (mic + headphones) connected via the molex pin to the soundcard
- no drivers for the mobo-integrated soundcard (AL883) installed

In X-Fi Control Panel (synchronized with Win Control Panel) all input sources except for Mic are muted, Mic output is also muted. Mic +20dB boost is off. In Voice recording tool everything seems to be working fine (even with boost on). In TeamSpeak - I always get these problems.

[In fact maybe this is a bigger problem with the X-Fi card, after switching between the Entertainment and Game modes, I always need to play with settings a bit to get the mic working again...]

Has anyone had similar problems and managed to find the reason and solution?

Any help appreciated, thanks!
