Static IP

I have a cable modem and XP, but my IP adress keeps changeing Is there a way i can keep the same IP besides leaveing my CPU on ?

Not really. You're at the mercy of your ISP.

If you get a home router, you can leave it on and holding your address and your XP box will just be a NAT'd address behind it. (I use a Linux gateway to accomplish this.)
