View Full Version : TeamSpeak Error upon starting
Ok here is the deal, I had TeamSpeak running, then my server had to be restarted, well I did not realize the tsserver2.pid would vanish upon that restart. Well now anytime I try to run the start script I end up with this:
./teamspeak2-server_startscript: line 7: 29561 Killed ./server_linux -PID=tsserver2.pid
I have no idea how to clear this out so I can run TS again, as well I have checked the status, TS infact has been stopped.
I have searched this forum and alas came up empty handed on a resolution, I have even googled for a resolution and nothing.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Steve

It means the pid fiel is still there.
./teamspeak2-server_startscript restart
will fix it.. TS closed not normally and left the pidfile there.. Restarting will take care of that.
Or rm the pid file.. But i always prefer a restart.
LOL
Tried the restart this happens:
tsserver2.pid is missing, no started server ?
Thanks for replying.

Make sure that the showed pid doesn't exist
ps aux
shows all active processes, look for that pid and try to kill it with
kill -9 pid
Here is the output of 'ps aux'.

I also put it here for you to see and me to double check myself but I don't see anything in the list.
Thanks

I have also viewed my MySQL databases using root access, I show no MySQL database for TeamSpeak. Not sure if thats how it goes but just an FYI.
Now I'm really starting to question the functionality of TeamSpeak, this is important I get this working, can anyone please provide more suggestions to fix this issue or a way to get rid of that from my system so I can reinstall?
Hi,
teamspeak will not use mysql by default - it uses sqlite which is easier and faster than mysql. And requires nothing installed on the server side. So no problem there.
Now about the process being killed when you start, view your system log file (e.g. via "dmesg" or "tail -n 200 /var/log/messages | less"). My best guess is there is some program running which kills the TeamSpeak Server process. Users were experiencing these kinds of problems with extremly secured linux servers - i remember something along the lines that PaX decided that TeamSpeak was a rogue process, and killed it every time the user tried to start it.
http://forum.teamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=2948
Sorry but none of that works.

Did you read and understand what peter told you?
LOL, yes I understood it but what he gave me showed me nothing to the fact that it was being killed. If I could get teamspeak out of sqlite and remove all that stuff then I can reinstall and make a backup of my pid.
But the page he sent me too I didn't understand that at all as it refers to gentoo and when I read the docs for gentoo it confused me. I'm tech savvy and savvy for server stuff but when it comes to teamspeak savvy, I'm a failure. lol
Ok found the problem, I'm running a dualcore server meaning x64 bit and teamspeak 2 is x32 bit so I can't run it till TS3 is released.

I have exactly the same problem. I had it installed. Didnt stop the process and restarted my server. Ever since i have had exactly the same error on line 7. I would really appreciate any information as to how to uninstall teamspeak on my server and reinstall it.
Many thanks
