Hi everyone,

I do not know the name of the cable modem (nothing on it whatsoever for a name). My router is a Linksys WRT54GX2. I was able to connect via internal IP, but no one could connect via external IP (WAN)

I'm having a lot of major problems with getting a TS server up and running. I've downloaded the software, installed it, done all the setting in the admin stuff, I've opened ports 8767UDP, 51234TCP, 14534TCP, and I still could not get anyone outside of my home network to connect. I was able to get myself and my guildies to see the server on the public list, but they still could not connect to it, nor could they even without having a password.

After much reading on the forums and elsewhere, I read about some routers needing to be reset before they will actually open up the UDP ports. After doing this, all the IPs for the computers were reset and changed. The computer running the server WAS 192.168.1.102, and is NOW 192.168.1.100, BEFORE the reset, the server had an external IP (WAN), now after the reset of the router there is ONLY an internal IP; TS server no longer sees an external IP. I also CANNOT connect to the server via internal or external IP anymore, with a computer on the network.

The server no longer shows up on the webserver list, the icon for the server no longer brings up the admin access (the top option that allows you to connect and change settings on the server).

I've tried using DMZ, turning off and back on the ports, turning on and off UPnP. I've run out of ideas and need some serious help.

*edit* I fixed the external IP problem as far as it showing up on the icon. But it still wont allow people to connect to the server, nor can I still connect via internal IP.
*edit* I've also fixed being able to connect via internal IP, but no connection via external IP (no one can connect to me)

Use this for testing if other people can connect.

Do you have any firewalls?

I have tried using that testing sight and ALL come back red x's.

Yes im behind a hardware firewall (router), and windows firewall. Windows firewall has the program (server_windows.exe) added, and all 3 ports opened, and my router has all 3 ports forwarded, my router also has all 3 ports triggered.

I have tried running the server with both firewalls down, still wont allow connections. I have tried putting the computer behind a DMZ, still wont work.

Only need to forward, not triggering also.

Try to find a sticker of some text of your modem so that we can be sure that it does not have anything extra other than just being a modem.

I removed the ports from triggering, and nothing. There is no name on the modem what so ever... however there was still a sticker giving me a model number.

After looking up the model number it seems that other people have a modem with the same number and they say theirs is Ambit... so Im assuming mine is too. So the modem is: Ambit 60194E-A02. I cant find any info on it, especially from ambit themselves. Maybe you can find something. There is only the cat5/6 cable slot and USB slot on the back of it, I dont think it's a router like some DSL modems, but maybe you can find out if it is or isn't.

Thanks for the help so far.

Check the status page of your router. Does it say it has an external ip of 192.168 ..., or your actual external IP?

Have you tried without the router and hooked straight to the modem?

Sorry for not posting in awhile, big family easter things all weekend. Hope everyone had a happy easter.

I'm not sure which IP you mean, because none of them say "external", but it does list serveral and they're all different. I'll list all the ones it's said and ones I've tried:

- Status>Router>Internet IP Address: 192.168.15.100
- Status>Local Network> IP Address: 192.168.1.1
- www.whatsmyip.com (I believe thats the right URL, I used the one everyone posted in the forums): 24.182.213.83
- http://ts2test.planetteamspeak.com/?page=step1 : 24.182.213.83
- Computer's Internal IP: 192.168.1.100

I've tried all 5 of those, and none allow connections or the TS2Test to work.

Now here's where I feel MAJORLY stupid, I am well knowledged in computers, but I've had these computers set up through a router for so many years, and with an older router too (before it got fried). I tried unplugging the computer from the router and directly into the modem, no connection. I tried renewing the IP (cmd>ipconfig /renew), no connection. I know I'm forgeting to do something, but I've had them through a router for so long I've forgotten what I'm doing wrong.

192.168.15.100 is a router. Do you have any control/own it?
