I've been using Teamspeak2 for about almost 2 years now and I used to been able to host teamspeak servers through a router.
Now I have switched ISP to faster one (1.5MBPS). So I was thinking I could run servers alot better quality now.
So lets get down to the real problem here. Portforwarding problem Im guessing. I can connect to my internal Ip but others cannot connect to my external IP and yes I do use Teamspeak Connection Test. Ok so I want to portforward so I go and do that. 8767 UDP and 14534TCP to this computers Internal Ip adress. Ts2Connection test = All Red X's So I look on my routers status and I see a WAN IP which is diffrent then the one when I go to http://www.Whatismyip.com. So Im thinking that its not forwarding to the right IP.

I think this ISP allows vitural Hosting. I've used Hamachi(VPN) on other game servers..So that what makes me think I can do VPS.

Yes i've tried DMZ.
No I have not tried directly plugged into the modem. I want to be able to run my server(s) from this computer.
Also tried turning my Antivirus and Windows Firewall off as well as Router Firewall
Any Idea?

Thanks

DSL?

What is the model of your modem? It most likely acts as a router also.

Ok the Modem type thing is about 4 inches long and 2 inches wide. It name is TrangoBroadband Wireless. It has 2 lights Radio and Network both lit up green. Then connected to my linksys router.

Go into your modems CP (Usually 192.168.0.1) and turn off all firewalls and enable DMZ for your router. I know we are not suppose to say this because it is a security breach, but I am hoping your router has a firewall and so it should not be a problem.

Wait a sec your saying that my Modem has a cp just like a router? Thanks I'll try this.

In the last 10 mins I've been doing some attempts on this case. I plugged a laptop directly into the modem and I get the same IP as in the router's WAN IP status, So I went to Whatismyip again and I got a diffrent one. The Modem has SPI firewall. How I know this because it blocks me from downloading files with viruses..So The modem has some type of DHCP Just like a router does. Also tried changing my router to Static IP with the same information it gives me on router status. It just freezes up and doesn't work.

I hoped that helped a little to solve my problem.

Thanks,

What does your router say that you wan ip is and what does whatismyip.com say that it is?

On http://www.whatismyip.com I get 12.198.15X.XXX
So then I go into my router and I get my WAN IP from it, it says 10.12.12X.XXX

Then this is your problem. Your modem is not the router that is connected to the internet. Your modem is connected to your ISP's modem that is connected to the internet. You will need to contact your ISP to see if you can get those ports forwarded.
