Hi there, I have the exact same sound card as you, the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi, brought it late last year and your right, I can play CS:S without TS2 and everyone one can hear me on CS:S, the problem starts when I have both CS:S and TS2 running, either TS2 will give the crackling sounds when the CS:S in game sound is OK or it is vice versa.

But do you Know what I can do to fix my prob ??????

Me be it's my mic ???? If I changed for a other one ????

Sometimes, when I play, I try to talk on CSS and other night everyone hear me... Well I disconnect to the game to try if I come back to play, Same problem. Distortion etc....

Well I hope you can help me....

Thank you...

Creative can't help me and Valve to :(

No I am not aware of a fix, I had this same problem with my on board Asus sound and thought the Creative card might fix problems for me.

Although the Creative card has solved a lot of problems I still have constant nagging issues with crackling sound at random times. e.g when starting up my pc and connecting to my TS2 server everything seems fine and at other times connecting to my TS2 server after a few hours of uptime, I get the crackling sound.

Whenever you try to report it to the vendor be it Valve, Creative or general support forums they always send you in circles saying its something wrong with your PC or get your drivers updated. In my case I have tried absolutely everything from updating driver, cleaning out old drivers, disabling the on board audio, changing codecs in both CS:S and TS2 etc etc.

Just out of curiosity Jack Fusil can you answer the following so I can eliminate the difference of our systems.

What operating system & service pack do you have?
What anti-virus do you use?
What firewall do you use?
What processor do you have?
What is your motherboard make and model number?
What make ram do you use, what size and speed is it.
What sort of mic do you use and what make is it?

Well,
Windows XP service pack 2
Avast home edition
Avast ....
Dual Core 2 by Intel
Intel by about the # you ask me a good question ;) it's Intel Buffalo Creek DG33BU
1G
It's Altec Lansing hear phone with mic.

About what you said before, I try to get some answer from Creative and Valve and both said the samethink... Don't know and try to update your drivers.... I do I'm up to date...

But I try something, I try 2 others sound card like Realtek ( She's on bord ) and I buy Dinex 7.1 to futur shop... Both are C-Media and Both work very good... but the sound was not a good quality so it's for this raison I want SoundBlaster ;) But Sound Blaster was not C-Media...

Me be you can help me with those information...

Thank's a lot to take some minute of your time to anwser me...

OK none of your specs meet mine except for dual core CPU, which make CPU do you have. I thought it might have been down to software but I think the creative drivers are buggy
