Hello guys,

I'm Currently using the Teamspeak2 linux with the latest patched server_linux, but it still full of bugs and kiddies keep hacking it till they have the password... that's boring and im really sad to see that the teamspeak team prefers getting affiliates with companies than working on a version that will make everyone happy..... Still no beta and same message of " work in progress " for 5 months with no more updates... No Screenshot, the only video I found was about the taskicon, and under MS Windows platform. I'm really bored of getting fucked by kiddies though i put the maximum security i can ( anti-flood, adding noobs ip to iptables... )
That's why i move to mumble.!

Keep hacking it until they get the password?

Sound like they keep brute forcing it until they get the password. Choose a better password.

lol no, I meant that the only secure way against kiddies is to protect the teamspeak server by a password... But I can't put a password because it needs to be a public server that everyone can join, though i put one ill have to give it...

What version are you running and what do they do when they get on?

Hi,

there are no known bugs in the newest server version that could be used to gain SA like you suggest. Using the newest version you should be pretty safe. Use strong passwords on *all* of your SA accounts and also SSA accounts. Don't fall for social engineering tricks (e.g. "hey I am from the TS Team, give me SA for a checkup..." :D) and you *should* be fine.

Of course you can always make a TS server become insecure (as you can with any software really). For example you might install the TS-Server in a publicly viewable folder (e.g. in httpdocs maybe even with directory listing enabled). That way everybody can download you database and extract passwords...or the PC you run the server on is compromised (virus, backdoor, other stupidity)...or one of the PCs that run SA-enabled Clients is compromised (virus, backdoor, other stupidity).

I would suggest you make sure the problem is not "home-made", that you are really running the newest server version and then if you still have problems we need more information, it might be a new yet unknown bug in TS that needs to be fixed. But I doubt it.

If your having problems with little kids coming on the server, maybe you should fistly make all channels moderated so they cant speak. Because there high-pitched voices will drive u crazy,Make it so they cant create or move channels

Also cutting don on the amount of admins you have, if u give someone admin make sure that they have a secure password for there account

If ur abble to, install a third party mod for it like pearl mod, im not rly to sure about mods, but i belive most of them have a anti-spam ablity. Therefore they cant spam reconnecting.

Alternativly, just ban them all, but im sure u no that that wont work. If u cant fugue out how to change it so that they stop spamming reconnect. Then advice everyone to turn off teamspeak notifications, therefore u wont hear them when they spam re-joining.

Doing the last option, is the last hing u should rly do, as it will become annoying, in doing so

Hello,
My Teamspeak server is running v2.0.r24.b1 Linux... and i know there are ways to crash this version. The latest thing the kiddies did was to run like some dDOS attack on the port 14534, I don't know why but only one of the started server timed out, the others stayed online and i was still able to connect through 14534 ( i did some netstat -n to find the noob's ip ), but i don't care anymore. i found the lamer's ip then i hacked him back with my 31337 computer programmer skill xD. I've also used the same way he did to me to shut down his teamspeak then his full dedicated machine. By the way if you want to know how the noobs hack with simple tools Teamspeak just look at youtube videos. And i don't think they can bruteforce my password, or maybe they would get it after 1 or 2 years. I've also told the others registered to put good passwords especially Server Admin.

As your are v3ry 5k1||fu|, why do you not protect your machine from getting dDOSd?

This sounds to me more like a general pc's problem than a teamspeak issue...

It is a teamspeak issue; and my machine is protected against ddos attack; I don't care anymore about that now.

Thanks
