Hi there, I installed the ts2 server with the synaptic Packet Manager. I am using Ubuntu Server 8.04, after the installation everything worked fine and than i fucked it up, so I just re-isntalled the server, now I don't know how to get my superadmin password.
The first Time I got it form the installation log (/var/log/teamspeak-server.log) the bad part is, the second isntallation didn't save the new password in that file ...
Any ideas how I can find out the password ? :)

"./teamspeak2-server_startscript passwords" doesn't work either?
Go in to the directory "tss2_rc2" using the command "cd tss2_rc2" then depending on your server put in the command "vi server.log" or "pico server.log" this will show the server logs with the information for the superadmin login if that doesnt work, leave me a personal message.
Hi I cant find my password using this commands.
I have TS on a VPS webserver and using SSH secure shell.
any other way to find it?

Matter of fact, I dont even have any file named "server.log" in my Ts directory :O

Well that is quite hard to believe, it should be in the directory where you run your ts server from (on the server). Connect using SSH go to teamspeak's directory (usually tss2_rc2) and the server.log must be there (when you start the server it checks for the existance of this file, and if it does not exist, then it is created)

Thanks for your answers. Its sorted now :)
Ok, Here is what's going on. I used to have TeamSpeak Server on this laptop connected via LAN. I installed the TeamSpeak Server and received the passwords etc. When the server was shutdown for any reason, the password and any user settings gone, and I am unable to get a new one unless I uninstall it and reinstall it, which does not solve my problem. I and anyone however, is able to connect via quickconnect including me. If anyone has had this issue, and can help me, I would so like that. If you need more information from me, I would be happy to reply.
Thank You,

Ok, So I read the link provided. I looked in the server file, and all usernames and passwords are there, but they won't work if the server is shut down. But the information provided in the link does not solve the issue I am having. I am not sure if TeamSpeak Server has to start as a service to prevent errors when trying to login. I should mention, everything is fine as long as the server is up and doesn't get shut down. The admin and superadmin passwords are there in the server thingy, but it doesn't work if the server goes down. Is there a way to prevent this or am I at a total loss with this. I ran it last week on Windows XP, but when I installed it on Windows Vista, I have had issues. I tried running the compatability for Windows XP, and still no luck. It doesn't run as an administrator so that isn't the issue.

Best thing to do is either set up the server as an admin or to run the TS server program as an admin every time.
I had to go to the server's properties and click on Compatability and click on run as administrator. When I did that, I restarted the laptop, and opened the server and voila, it worked. No more issues. Thanks a bunch!
