View Full Version : Microphone noise being detected

Hello,

I have been using TS2 for a good while, and it was running perfectly, however when i upgraded to vista a few weeks ago and this is when the problem started!

After installing all my drivers and everything, i installed TS2, however it would not detect my microphone, even when i selected the correct input device and everything! MSN detects and uses the mic perfectly and so does vista!

I currently use a Soundblaster X-FI Extrememusic (i beleive it is that anyway), my mic is selected as the record input in the creative control pannel, the microphone is the deafult microphone in the vista settings, it just seems TS2, will not detect the noise from my microphone!

I've also disabled the whole WHAT YOU HEAR settings and such, so only the microphone setting is enabled! Still nothing!

Any help on what I can do?

Are you using PTT? Also make sure the get updated and correct drivers for your soundcard.

The drivers are all the correct ones, as I've stated before, vista and msn both recognise my mic, its just TS2 that doesn't show any sound, when i select my mic in the options!

Does it have your mic as muted all of the time?

Yes i did try it with PTT, the light didn't go bright green, it just stayed the darker shade of green like it registered the mic was there, but wasn't picking up any sound from it!

My mic does work properly, I have tested it using vista's sound recorder and it detected my voice properly!

Run TS as admin. I know you mic was working just wondering if it has the muted symbol in the ts window even it you try to unmute.

Cheers it worked when i ran it in admin! Vista is very strange I have to say, even though my accoutn is admin, it still doesn't run stuff as admin I have to select it to do that! How very weird! Still thank you for all your help in resolving this issue!

You can right click >properties>compatiablity>and choose run as admin. So that it will at least ask you if if you want to run as admin without having to right click everytime.
