Hello, i have been running a teamspeak server for a very long time for some friends with absolutely no problems until today, I am totaly unable to connect to my server and i dont know why.

I recently reformated and freshly installed windows xp pro but when i put the teamspeak server and client back on my pc i found i could only connect to the server through my lan ip 192.168.0.2 and not from the dyndns i have had setup and used before @ aegamers.kicks-ass.net

My router has not changed nor has any of the settings and i have setup a server many times before with no problems, i am totaly lost so i thought i would ask here and see if anyone could suggest anything just incase i had missed something ;) because right about now i suppose anything is possible...

Ask away and i will provide any details that you need to help me troubleshoot this problem...

NAT redirect filter. Most likely in the router settings.

I believed it to be a router problem somewhere along the line and i forgot to say that i am using a Netgear DG834GT.

I remember looking into NAT redirecting when i first setup the server but to be 100% honest i didnt understand much of it so i left it alone as it was working fine at the time and there is only a couple of NAT settings in the router config that i have never changed so i am leaving them alone :p

Also the one thing i forgot to do was get a few people to test out the connection from there side using aegamers.kicks-ass.net I grabbed a bunch of people from some local IRC channels to test if i was connectable and it works perfectly :) i dont know why but it still wont let me connect through any means other than my lan ip address but i am happy with that for now, i suspect it is something to do with the NAT settings but i am too chicken to change them for now.

Thanks for the help ;)

I think, this thread is for you :)

Only one way to change situation:
Start -> Run: notepad.exe
File - open: %SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
At the very bottom, add line
192.168.0.2 aegamers.kicks-ass.net

Save and close.
