Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I just read in developpers blog a new high quality codec will be released with TS3, specialy for radio streaming...
But what about the army/swat radio codec ?

We, I mean lot of gamers, already asked for such a codec for TS2, to be able to set a TS channel to simulate swat or army radio coms.
It should increase so much immersion for gamers.

Teamspeak is made for gamers at start, so will we get our swat/army radio coms codec in TS3 to increase immersion in game ?

What do you mean an army codec? With the clicks before talking? That's only in hollywood..
I've been a mechanic in the army for all the signaler stuff, so i think i know how it works after 6 years and extenzive training.. :D

The only thing different in the army with the radio's are the frequencies used, and the encryption that the signals are beeing send with..
When you have a decent connection all voice coms are crystal clear..

Very interesting comment from you Katana.
Now we all know you were for 6 years in the army and got clear sound in your radio coms...
But that is out of my subject.

To say it twice, I ask if TS3 will add a codec "to be able to set a TS channel to simulate swat or army radio coms." (copy of my first post)
I am talking of that crackling sound over radio coms.

Like i said, that's hollywood.. And if you would have read further you would seen that i said that coms are crystal clear..
They use digital radio's nowadays so unlike the old analog things you dont have the static anymore...

In my opinion this kind of optional feature would be extremely nice, doesn't matter if it's that realistic or not. If you think it's unrealistic, nobody would be forcing you to use it ;).

I think the key part in this kind of codec would be the short "snap" in the end of the radio message, which you can hear in this clip for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoepdKtiJ8Y

Oh thank you very much Kaltsu.
That's exactly what swat/army radio coms effect I was talking about.

Will TS3 add such codecs to give gamers more immersive feeling ?
