Can't chance to Direct Sound and mic won't work.

Hi there TS users!

I got a problem with my Teamspeak client. My microphone appears as muted. I have seen other topics concerning my specific problem, but nothing have so far solved my problem. I have learned that it might help to chance to Direct Sound, but the problem is that I can't. When I check Direct Sound and push apply it will switch right back to wave.

I am running Vista on a labtop, which has it's own microphone which might be why my new microphone doesn't work.

- What could my problem be and how may I solve it?

i'm having the same problem and can't find any solution on google or the teamspeak forums. lots of people with suggestions, but none of the suggestions worked.

i was getting the Prepareheader invalid handle error before but after completetly uninstalling my sound driver and then reinstalling, that error went away. then teamspeak worked once, i restarted it, and it stopped working again even though i didn't touch any settings. i can hear everyone else fine, but still no mic and can't use directsound..which i need to use my mic apparently. and it's not my mic because windows picks up the sound from it in recording devices fine, the level goes up and down as i talk.

if anyone knows a solution to this more than just "use directsound", please post it.
