Ok, I've been using TeamSpeak perfectly fine for atleast 3-4 months now. All of the sudden about 2 weeks ago everytime I would connect to TeamSpeak whenever I connect to the server it would lag for 1-2 seconds while connecting, when it usually connected instantly, and also everyones voice is REALLY choppy and barely understandable AT ALL. I tried TeamSpeak on Ubuntu 8.10 x64 that I have dual-booted on this machine and it works perfectly fine so it isn't my internet connection. I have tried changing codecs and uninstalling/reinstalling TeamSpeak 3-4 times now. My packetloss has been anywhere between 1-5% and ping upwards in 2000ms when I used to have at most .05% packetloss before this mysterious problem popped up. Also tried using Ventrilo with a couple friends and it works perfectly so I am pretty sure for some reason TeamSpeak is somehow being limited bandwidth for some reason, i have unlimited bandwidth set in options, so any ideas?

TeamSpeak client log:

Error appears everytime I run TeamSpeak. Even if it is practically the only thing running.

I have 4GB of ram but of course since I am using 32-bit Windows it only sees 3.

So yeah, sorry for the long post but wanted to provide as much information as possible. Security wise I have Comodo Internet Security, Spybot's S&D real-time protection module called TeaTimer, and Avast! Professional Edition. TeamSpeak is a trusted application in Comodo Internet Security so that is no problem and I have had Avast! installed with no problem with their on-access protection.

Try TS>settings>options>other>priority high

Just passing information along. ;)

Someone else figured it out.

Well, it worked the first time I tried TeamSpeak and now it goes back to choppy voices with high packetloss. I don't see why it worked only one time. I didn't change any settings and the high priority option is still enabled.

What if you go to task manager and set the priority there?

Nope, still the same issue. :(

Try direct instead of wave, or vice versa.

You can try to reinstall TS. Make sure to change the name of C:\user\<name>\appdata\roaming\TS or Teamspeak\config.ini to config.bak

That way it creates a new config file. Other than that there is nothing else that I can think of.

Well I checked there and there was imagecache.ini and TeamSpeak.conf so I turned them both into .bak files as well as the teamspeak2 folder they were in. Did a complete uninstall with Revo Uninstaller, reinstalled and still the problem persists. Beginning to think it's a problem with my vista because I am starting to see my web browsers slow.

Have to check for malware.

AVG has a free edition that is really good.

Ok, over the course of the last 2 days I did scans with several programs for spyware, malware, viruses, rootkits, and adware.

Programs I used:
Ad-Aware 2008
A-Squared Free
Avast! Antivirus
COMODO Antivirus
F-Secure Black Light
Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware
Spybot Search & Destroy

Got rid of everything that was picked up and left what I knew wasn't a virus.
Internet has been working perfectly I think the slowing of my internet was due to the DNS server I was using, since I switched to OpenDNS it works perfectly now, yet TeamSpeak still refuses to cooperate. So any other suggestions? Also, I just want to thank you personally BHKai for helping me with my problem as much as possible. You are a very kind and generous person. :)

I really can not think of anything else. It is not a hardware issue so it has to be software. Works fine in Ubuntu but is choppy in Vista.

Only think I can think of is maybe it is the drivers for the audio. Or some program that is running high or using the bandwidth.

That is the only thing that it could be to cause that type of error. Only things that really affect ts. But your bandwidth seems fine and you have enough processor strength. Maybe an update audio driver? Did you update anything when it started becoming choppy.

I went and tried downloading the latest drivers.
motherboard_driver_audio_realtek_azalia-ati.exe

From: http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/Driver_DownloadFile.aspx?FileType=Driver&FileID=3360

but every time I try to download it, it says "Exe file has been blocked by your firewall." Even if I disable all my protection it still gives me that error. So this is a little bit of a weird request lol, but if you could please download it and then upload it to some other host like www.mediafire.com www.filefactory.com or www.megaupload.com I would appreciate it.

Well, installed the new drivers and still the same problem. I decided to do a 20 or so second recording to let you listen to what I am hearing on TeamSpeak. It is a wav file. Tried attaching it but it kept saying it failed to upload so I uploaded it to Mediafire. It is only a 506kb file. If you aren't supposed to post links here sorry. :(

Any other suggestions appreciated. Really wanting to work this out.

You green light is staying lit up?

Could you try with vista in safe mode?(Press F8 after bios finishes when booting)

That should allow only system needed sources to be used.

No, it only lights up whenever I press and hold my press-to-talk button. I see my friends green lights light up and what you listened to is what I hear. Tried Vista in safe mode and but since the audio service is a driver and not an exe I didn't have any audio, but I still checked my packetloss and it was hanging around 4% still so my guess would be it didn't help.

Might just redo my whole computer in the long run.
