View Full Version : visible people
How can I make it so people are visible in all channels? When people are in other channels they can't be seen unless I go into that channel?
Change the servertype in your Webadministration Panel. (From Public to Clan type)
AHHHHHH Thank you very much, this was pissing me off, I couldn't find any were that said about this, I never thought it would be that public/clan setting, thanks again.

i didnt find this before..
I also wanted to see rest of server and changed to clan, but this is my problem how i can leave one channel invisble (lobby) so just that one channel wont see others in server...but in other channels u can see rest..so any unvited people wont see who is in server...but we still see others in other channels :p
Password protect the server. Eliminates all uninvited guests from joining.

Haha... true, and then you don't have to worry about them seeing you :p And even better you don't have to see them :D Pure Genius ;)

Enough to protect the default channel and remove ability for guests t join registered channels.
They will still be able to join Default channel, even if they prohibited from joining Registered channels, unless you protect it with password. Making default channel moderated is the other, less restrictive idea for semi-open servers. It also saves your bandwidth, as guests will be able to join server, but not to talk on it.

But it didnt help me to my problem :o
We allow people to come in server, cos they might have something important but we dont whant so show how many there really is in server :D
I know its possible to do it but i dont know how :(
I know it is not possible. The server is either all visible or only the channel you are in that is visible.
You are free to prove me wrong by giving the ip address of one server that is setup like this.

As bhkai said it's not possible to my knowledge either. What i'm really interested is in why on earth that set up? It's like inviting people inside your house but everyone who lives there wears an invisible cloak so that can't see you. That's rather interesting.

That's a good idea, they'd be like... WTH? :D
The only way that comes close to what you want to do is to make it a public server so that you can only see the ones in that channel you are in. And if someone needs to chat with you alone then make a Chan with a PW on it so then if you and the other person are in there no one sees you or can access it either way :)

well there is maybe one thing u can do in that matter.
leave it as public server and make also subchannes.
I am not sure now but if u r in default channel or its subchannel anyone from default channel/its_subchannels will see where u r.
when u r in other channel/subchannel they don't.
only unpleasant thing that subchannels have some rights as channels they r childs of. (Moderated Password ...)
EDIT just tested it. works the way I said.

true.. but the problem is that they want a "one way mirror" effect (that doesn't sound right but i think you know what i'm talking about). In the sense that they want to see all the channels but guests can not. Unless i didn't follow what you were saying, then i stand corrected.

I try to get it work like this..the first channel when u enter (and subchnnnels) works like in public server...and rest of server works like clan server. This helps what i try to get? I know its possible and i can tell how it works to BHKai when/if i get my server to that point ;)
The only thing i can come up with is trying the 3rd party stuff. Other then that, i think your out of luck.

No need for 3rd party stuff.
It's default behavior of "public" TS server.
However, visitors will not be able to create their own subchannels in default channel. (If you have it set up properly)

Please hide from this thread, you do not have any knowledge about the issue at which you're trying to solve.

that's not what this person wants. So yes, 3rd party stuff might work.

Probably I've read it backwardly.
My apology if that the case.
