I found the WAN address given in the right click menu in server system tray icon (the upper IP address) to be inaccurate, even after clicking "Update IP's".

I know this has been noted elsewhere but I only found it deep within a thread.

Can some edit the "How to use TS behind Routers." sticky to mention that the WAN IP given in server system tray might be inaccurate and if clients are having problems connecting, try obtaining your IP whatsmyip.org instead?

I would not have thought about trying whatsmyip.org instead of trusting the software unless someone had suggested it.

There are other threads that say that it has been taken out. There are many ways for you to find your wan ip.

I know, but given that 200,000+ have read that post, it should specifically say not to use the IP given in the server system tray.

It should only show your lan ip anyway. Make sure that you have the lastest version.
