This is what i do, open teamspeak, connect, web server list, pick one and click connect. i get error everytime on all servers(no reply from server error.......). what is going on? i thought this was supposed to be easy. all my friends get the same thing. Or i would just like to get a priviate room going so me and my friends can talk during a game. Help

wow, you've read 4 h and you haven't found this post (search for "public server" with the search function):

http://www.teamspeak.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4282&highlight=public+server (the info which should help you is also writen in english in this post, see post from "Skorpion")

It took me about 30 sec. to get this info. Your effectiveness really should get better :D

hope this helps and you can have fun !

as far as setting up my own server, i have a network in my house.
So, when i try to run the server it shows me 3 ip one is my computer ip the satandard 192.XXXX the next is my satellite modem ip 10.4xxxx the next is my actual ip that the web see's
66.xxxx. i can connect to the first 2 ips with teamspeak client from the same computer but when i try to connect to the ip that the web see's it throws up an error. and i cant connect to it. so whats up with that?

and thx for the help on the servers. And about my searching skills
you found that in the german section. i dont speak german so i never checked that out.

You can connect to your internal network IP addresses because those are the IPs your computer can "see". The reason you can't connect to the "66" side has to do with netowrk routing and isn't related to TS.

I could go into a long and detailed technical explanation as to why it doesn't work that way but I'm guessing you may not be willing to read all the boring details. :-) Suffice to say "that's normal".

I run a server on my LAN. I connect to it via its "192" address and I tell all my friends outside of the network my "external" or "web" (as you put it). They connect to the external IP and I connect to the internal and we can all talk together.
