Hi
Ive built aweb server using windows web server 2003 updated to sp2
My problem is
Wymax Ip xxx.xxx.xxx.177 -> Wirless router DMZ xxx.xxx.xxx.170 ->
Windows web server xxx.xxx.xxx.155 -> iisv6 default web site ip
xxx.xxx.xxx.155 ive also tried xxx.xxx.xxx.177 in the iisv6 Ports set to 8085
all ip addresses are static apart from the "177" (I am running through dyndns.com to do the divert when the isp changes the address). but when i try to use me Domain address I get a page can't be displayed error.
if i call up localhost or type 127.0.0.1 i get the site but using Ie
I get nothing.
Can any one help me with the numbers please
I appreciate any assistance to point my in the right direction.
thanks netjumper
1. try access the webserver from LAN (some other pc connected to same network with router) (with webserver LAN IP)
this will tell u if u r stuck in firewall on that pc ...
2. then u should try something like anonymouse.org and put there urs WAN address (I using it too to test when I play with firewalls)
this will tell u if the shoe is on router settings.
I believe its working at least it should if u put it in DMZ.
u just can't test the WAN IP/DNS from within urs LAN with same WAN....
why ? usually modem part of devices dont know what to do with packets they have to send in internet and at same time they r that target.
just do those 2 tests and tell us result

Hi Thomas
Thanks for getting back to me,
I have already tested access to the web site internally using the ip and port number site displeyed no problems.
I think possibly what my problem is that..... the Wimax cpeo400 broadband gateway has its own wan configuration..... because I have tried an edimax
and a linksys router and on both occasions the wan had no connection to the
wimax wireless gateway ( Built by Motorola) So what I have done was
from the linksys befsr41 I have used the UPLINK to the Wimax gateway
and thereby get access through to the web Linksys is setup as a Router
I don't know how this set up will effect the overall performance being now
the Linksys is basically a hub now for multiple ports.
on the dyndns site they have a utility to check whether the port 80 has through put and my result came up clear although I have now set the
port to 8000 and re-ran the test again all clear no block and yet I still cant connect, I have even set up the web server directly to the wimax gateway
so there are no hops between the gateway and the server. Just can't put my finger on it???????????????:(

Hi Tomas
I ran the anonymouse.org. and it came back with this result...
While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.eurogites.webhop.net
The following error was encountered:
Unable to determine IP address from host name for www.eurogites.webhop.net
The dnsserver returned:
Name Error: The domain name does not exist.
This means that:
Does this mean that (proxy) dyndns.com has not set the domain name to the ip address correctly?
is it possible to dial into my webserver from the web just using my ip and port number the same as you do on the local side? and how is layed out in the address line?
Regards netjumper
I suppose that u have registered eurogites.webhop.net inside DynDNS and if u ask me www.eurogites.webhop.net is different domain!
if that is the case and its working ignore my PM and u should have some access from internet in logfile
(website :: why its still with default shit message?)
what about ports ? wtf ? why dont u use normal 80 insteat of some port usually for proxyes ?
(((if I skip fact that I would never use IIS...)))
one thing is weird why does the DNS name rewrite ?? lol
I hope I didnt jump to conclusions and its just like I said.
