View Full Version : Login problems
I have one friend having problems to login to my server. All my other friends can login without any kind of problem but he just cant. He is able to join other servers but not mine.. :(
it says something like 'no reply from server. server offline'
His modem doesnt have any port things so every port is open so it cant be about ports. He also tried to disable firewall and login but it didnt work..
I've read faq and tried everything
What are the results?

Then either you lying that someone else can connect to your TS server, or you have supplied wrong address to your friend/test page.
It's hard to know without details.
Everything passed but when i tried on real client it doesn't connect.
When i tried the test with IP everything failed but when i tried it with FQDN everything passed.

It's hard to know without details.
Sorry, telepats long since gone mad from overworking and exhaustion, so you gonna take your time and explain your problem in clear (http://catb.org/esr/faqs/smart-questions.html).
I aint telepat either so you tell me what are the details you want. He passes test but he cant join the server on TS client. He can join other servers. All my other friends can join my server without any problems. We tried without firewalls and with bridged modems, tried ping test which failed on both sides to timeout, tried everything on every FAQ and searched all over the web. So just ask what you need to know more...

At least, your OS version and network configuration.
For Windows there's a diagnostical walkthrough: http://forum.teamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=37522
My OS is windows XP and heres answers for your link's questions.
[ ] Server is up and running.
Common checks: You see server icon in tray area or server_windows.exe listed in task manager.
Quote:
If not - check server.log in directory where You have TS installed.
Yes server is running.
[ ] Server configured and functions properly.
Common checks:
[ ] You can see HTTP interface by entering
http://localhost:<HTTPServer Port>
in Your webbrowser.
Works
[ ] You can connect to TCP query port by starting telnet.exe and entering
open localhost <TCPQueryPort>
Works. Or at least it becomes blank thing where reads [TS] so I guess it worked.
there.
[ ] You can connect to TS server at address
localhost:<Server Port>
Works
1. Do You have Your firewall configured correctly to allow UDP connections to and from <Server Port>?
8767 TCP & UDP allowed, 14534 TCP & UDP allowed, 51234 TCP & UDP allowed
2. Is Your server located behind a router? Does that router have real WAN address or just address in other (wider) LAN?
Its behind router and it has real WAN address.
3. Did You set up port forwarding properly? Or use DMZ option? (make sure you have Your firewall always enabled!! even if You are behind a router!)
I set it properly. I tried with DMZ and without. (though i dont know what it means)
4. Which address You provide to Your friends? Is it Your real IP or name? Does that IP dynamically changes from time to time? Is Your name updated to reflect that changes?
I gave them the one that myip or something says. Its dynamical but it doesnt change.
And heres my netstat -aon:

No idea on firmware version
Can you paste your traceroute to your friends computer here?
(start -> run -> cmd -> tracert <yourfriendsIP>
Sounds like a routing issue to me with either your ISP or your friends ISP. (or worse a higher tier provider)
Tracing route to 213-216-242-65-Tuira-TR1.suomi.net [213.216.242.65]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.0.1
2 * * * Request timed out.
3 * * * Request timed out.
4 * * * Request timed out.
5 * * * Request timed out.
6 * *
does it stop at 6? or is there more?
hop 1 is your gateway/router
hop 2 would be your ISP, its not even giving you any information like it should, can you post a traceroute to www.google.com to compare?
If you get a successful trace, contact your ISP's tech support and explain the problem to them.
It is possible that your ISP is blocking that IP for some reason.
It doesnt stop at 6 but i couldnt bother to wait because ive done that tracert before and it timed out on the rest. I think i must contact my ISP then ;)

It seems like problem with ISP for you or your friend.
You said that you checked with ts2test and everything has a green mark after it? Then your server is up and running correctly.
It was ISP problem indeed :)
I send them email and they fixed the problem. He can connect now just fine
