Hi,
I have a working TS2 Server and TS2 client. They connect via Lan just great. Port forwarding done on UDP 8767 with range of 8766 to 8678. No tcp setting. I have a BT homehub router that changes the ip daily. So to get static i registered with DynDNS.com so i can run TS and allow WAN users to connect. Hmmm, wrong, lol. Ping the host, the DNS ip, local ip and router ip and u get 4 of 4 back in results. So thats all good. Look in the web server list on TS client and u can see my DNS host TS server just fine, but try to connect to it and it says offline all the time....does anyone have any ideas to sort this pls? I have tried many guides on forums, they all say much the same but nothing about DNS. Tried setting hub to static but it really dont want to do that. I have DNS with both DynDNS and no-ip so i can use either if you got any ideas please....
Thanks i really do hope :)
Regards Libracon
you can always try no-ip .... < I recommend trying it first.
can I test that ? PM me
I got some backup idea about solving it .... but its weird how it acts.

Have you tried search before posting your stuff? Means, shit?
It's common knowledge - you can't connect to your own WAN IP from inside of your LAN.
That's why the http://ts2test.planetteamspeak.com/ exist.

Hmmm, all i can say to that ANR Daemon is you should read AND understand the post before commenting on common knowledge......I believe i mention trying many guides on forums, so i guess i have searched lol. Maybe i have not made it clear but i am trying to get others to connect to my TS2 server via WAN using a DNR IP address. Its this im not sure of cos you can see the server clearly but cannot connect....
Thanks for your consideration though.

HEY ANR chill out ... I dont think it was common sence for you as well at some point.
Yea I am IT I work with these stuff each week at minimal. I also work with Kind of people as the asker here. If you gonna be prudent you dont have to post here.
It is basic knowledge among ITs ... not among users who dont care how it works... they only care if it works or they call us otherwise.
This is not some forum about PvP and games. Where noobs asks stupid questions basic questions .... there is lot of OffTopic in any thread.
anyways Libracon ANR was trying to say " perform http://ts2test.planetteamspeak.com/ and post us here results"

If you don't want to learn, why trying? Call support, pay money, get the job done...
For difference between no-ip and dyndns - that only really matters what is supported by your router. Mine only support dyndns, and IP changed daily.

Actually you can.. It's called NAT.

Of course, if your router can manage that... Or you can add relevant route manually... and it can understand it... Most of home routers don't care about that at all.

right if you are IT and you are building your own altered router yes.
if you are just another idiotic user of ISP internet his modem, yours computer ... you cant. noone can in any app.
and yes I am sure. I have confirmed it not among users near me but also around the world.
the only case when it will be incorrect is .... when someone is lieing about modem or router and his internet is directly in his Ethernet card.
and that is what is ANR telling.

Then you need classes again or a better provider.. Each and every router i had from a ISP had NAT ( last few years ).
Your sources are either unknowingly or haven't bothered to actually look it up..
Hell even my 2 euro Barracuda has NAT on it...

They do have NAT, that's why they called Routers with a reason.
But having NAT module does not imply that you'll be able to loop back to yourself. If not the public forums, i'd offer one rude and harsh comparison to human physiology.
Yes, in some circumstances you *CAN* loop through your modem's NAT back to your own WAN address, but not every modem will allow you to do so.
None of mine was capable of doing so. You know I'm IT technician, so that was some representative selection, including D-Link, TrendNet, ZTE, LinkSys, Netgear brands and models of different age.
what the hell I qouted the ANR post not katana post in my prev. post in this thread.
what going on with forum these days??
I fixed that post now
