Sub-domain on linux/cpanel webserver to teamspeak address?

I have a cpanel/linux webserver with subdomains, and I want to redirect it so that when you type in ts.XXXXXXX.com:8767 you can join our TS server.

The problem is that it times out and won't work. I have put in my ip into the redirect, but can this even be done? If so is there a tutorial on it?

All you need is to configure DPS record to have ts.example.com point to your TS server IP.
No relation to your hosting, at all, except that possible you can use cpanel to change DNS records.
(f.e. take a look at svn.rootdir.org vs. www.rootdir.org )
