View Full Version : Access Violation
I've been getting this error since I first installed TS2 a few versions ago. The error seems to come up whenever I give TS focus or when I minimize another window.
Here is the message.
"Access violation at address 01F382B5. Read of address 01F382B5."
The number probably will change after restarting as is common with memory read errors. A few seconds after the error pops, I get a Windows error saying the program must close and all that.
Since I've gotten this error, I've upgraded my Ram, CPU, motherboard, and sound card.
This leaves me to believe it must be a software problem. As my profile says, I'm running WinXP. Any help will be appreciated as long as it's not the "this will be fixed in the next version" response which i've heard since 3 versions ago.

Trust me, I've tried every error fix posted on these forums. I'd like some new info or something proven works.
Priorities, buffers, qualities, codecs, system tray stuff everything.

hi!
I just wanted to ask for the exact client-version...
if you use ts2rc2 you should install the latest developer release http://www.teamspeak.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3854

Sorry for the long wait for the reply, I forgot I even posted.
My version is 2.0.28.40 of RC2
A couple questions before I try to get that dev release. First, I can't seem to log in to the server anonymously. Also, will I still be able to connect to the public release server version?
Thanks for your response.
There currently seems to be a problem with the ftp server.
About your second question. Yes, you will still be able to use the public or any other RC2 server. The change from RC1 to RC2 was the only one involving the need of changing the client as well.
Thanks for the reply! Good support
I'll post in a week or so if it appears to be working. If not, I'll post that as well.
Thanks again.
Damn.... Just got another access violation.
This time it happened after I had just closed IE. It often happens when I'm using or closing IE, but it's happened with other programs as well.

sorry, but that solves a lot of problems normally :D
I finally solved the problem. I did a format and everything but that didn't help. (don't worry I was meaning to do that anyway.)
It turns out it was DirectInput. I initially didn't want to turn it off because my mic can be sensitive so i need the PTT mode and it said it may disable that. Well it didn't disable it and i haven't crashed once.
Hope you can use this info for others. Btw, I did a dxdiag and it says my directinput is fine. Maybe it's just my keyboard or something?
