Background noise

I experience static background noise on any VoIP program but it aint that bad. But now when I've tried teamspeak its even worse than at others. I use same codec but its still worse background noise at teamspeak, its same outbound. Whats wrong? I use Direct sound, I tried wave, same thing.

How much are the levels for your input volume.

And I check that at...?

Start > control panel > sound audio devices > Voice > Volume (under the voice recording).

There you should see slider(s) and one of them being a mic.

Have you tried a different mic? or have you tried the same mic on a different pc?

Make sure you have the latest update for your sound card.

Is it USB ? Is it a headset or just a mic by itself?

If it's USB did you try a different slot?
