I've had a teamspeak server running on my desktop pc with no problems for at least a few months. Recently the dsl modem I had died and I had it replaced. I have since confirmed that there isn't a firewall built into it that would block teamspeak. I have also done the port forwarding as per the faq and various other threads regarding similar issues. Yet my friend still cannot connect to the server. I am able to get on it just fine. The server log is as follows:

When this problem presented itself I reinstalled the server files. I have also checked that there are no firewalls or other internet blocking programs causing issues on the desktop. Aside from the change in the dsl modem there is no obvious difference between then and now. However, as I said before, even after taking care of the port forwarding my friend still cannot connect. I suppose it's possible I did that process incorrectly, so here is a screenshot of it:

along with one for an example of the info on those three port settings:

Computer specifications are:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 3
Intel Celeron CPU 2.93GHz
1GB of RAM

If there is any additional information you would like in order to find the cause and fix this issue, by all means ask.

Can your friend connect to any other servers? What are your results with the following test:

http://ts2test.planetteamspeak.com/?page=step1

The test results from that were:

Performing UDP test...
» Establish a connection with the server OK
» Verify that it is a TeamSpeak 2 server OK
» Perform connection handshake ERROR 2
» Retreive a list of active channels ERROR 2

Performing TCP test...
» Establish a connection with the server OK
» Verify that it is a TeamSpeak 2 server OK
» Retreive the servers global information OK

Performing HTTP test...
» Establish a connection with the server OK
» Verify that it is a TeamSpeak 2 server OK
» Retreive the servers version information OK

I do have a password on the server I run. That test didn't really tell me anything I didn't already know. Still doesn't explain why my friend can't get on it though. It worked fine until about a week ago.

Perhaps the most important one on there is your 8767 UDP port and it's the one that came back with the error. Not sure what error 2 is. What did it say after you hit the continue button?

Can your friend connect to any other servers?
Can other people connect to your server besides yourself?

The final page was simply:
[**] The UDP connection test finished with warnings!

The UDP test could establish a connection to the specified TeamSpeak server, but was unable to perform all requested operations.

Possible reasons:
1. Your server is protected by a password.
2. The TeamSpeak 2 Connection Test is using a nickname, which is not allowed on your server.

[OK] The TCP connection test finished without errors!

The TCP test could establish a connection to your TeamSpeak server. Your servers TCP query interface can be accessed by anybody anywhere on the Internet.

[OK] The HTTP connection test finished without errors!

The HTTP test could establish a connection to your TeamSpeak server. Your servers web interface can be accessed by anybody anywhere on the Internet.

As for other people connecting to the server, only myself and my friend ever use it. We do not invite anyone else to join us. I will request that they try connecting to another server and find out if it's an issue with their client.

Here are a few they can try.

1. TeamSpeak Public -1-
(voice.teamspeak.org:8767)
2. TeamSpeak Public -2-

3. TeamSpeak Public -3-

I didn't change anything or mess with any settings, but all of a sudden the problem is fixed. I don't know how or why. I am still unsure as to what the original cause was. I would provide more info if I could, but unfortunately I can't.

Least it's fixed for now. If you have more problems don't hesitate to post again. Hopefully i'll never see you again.
