good admin dont give a damm about users passwords. I mean about what their pass is exactly. its called privacy.

yop if someone hack your host-server :( :D (hack in operating system you are using there Win / Linux )
.... better option might be just rewrite their password in WEBadmin if you ask me about changing forgoten pass.

btw this question is more server than client section

everything is relative

You might have gotten the answer to your question if you would have just said that you were trying to recover your own password.

As much as his answer is posted on this forum. I did not feel like trying to teach him right and wrong.

I figured when he gets his connection shutdown from someone reporting to his ISP that he is misusing information then he will learn.

You still haven't given a good reason for you to need to see people's passwords.

A lot of times people use their favorite passwords for multiple places. While this is bad practice, it is very common. So what does that mean? Well, it means that YOU would have access to their passwords and it is possible, though I am not accusing you of so, that you could use it to log into their bank accounts, networks, or whatever.

It's a bad idea all around for admins or ANYONE other than the user to see user passwords.
