I was wondering what on earth a channel commander is. Like.. what can he/she do? Are there any extra "special" powers bestowed upon channel commanders? Or is this just to change their green dot into a red one?

The one and only reason why there is a channel commander really is that he can change his light from green to red ;)
But seriously. Channel commanders can change properties of the channel such as certain flags and codecs. The can kick players from the channel and they can password the channel which the "command". They are more or less like the server admin (with a few distinctions) but just for their channel and not the whole server. Further information can be found in the helpfiles.

Not to dribble on here, but we find it most helpful when admins/channel admins and so on, have Channel Commander, can talk privately amongst themselves. Or to the whole gang, depending on which "Push to talk" key you press. VERY handy.

Judas might mix channel commander with channel admin, which happens all the time...
A channel commander has this red-dot in front of his name and if you click settings / keysettings you'll see, that you can bind whispering to a channel commander and that you can bind a hotkey to switch your status to channel commander...
This is especially useful in channels with sub-channels, because you can always talk to a "commander" who can then coordinate your actions.
But a channel commander has no special powers :)

It's real easy. First, find a key that isn't assigned to anything in the game or games you play, or any other TeamSpeak chores. Choose one that is easily accessed. From your TeamSpeak console pull down on SETTINGS-->KeySettings. Click ADD, and then click SET, and then click whatever key you want to use. Then choose what you want that key to do.
ACTION-->Toggle-->ChannelCommander.
That key will now "Toggle" Channel Commander On & Off. Now, do another bind for "Whisper to Channel Commanders" on another key. If you grant someone else Channel Commander status, both Channel Commanders can talk privately without having to leave the channel. Just bind a different "Push to Talk" key for CC transmit. Very handy for Co-Captains to discuss teammates strengths/weaknesses and so on. That's why it's called "Whisper". It's rude, but it's handy...just like whispering. If you use your regular "push to talk" key for general conversation to the rest of the normal group, it will still transmit to the whole group. Only the "Whisper" key will transmit to another Channel Commander. I hope this worked..I haven't explained a Bind in a while, and I may have confused you! I hope not. Post back with problems.;)
