When I start teamspeak and I wanna conncet to a server I can't get a list...
What am I doing wrong?
I am not 100% sure but i think that the public server list is not accessible due to too many servers on that list.
Please correct my if that is wrong.
Just in case i am wrong (really never use that list), a firewall might block your request as it is sent on a different port than the voice-traffic.

you can use the public servers if you want to connect to some server:
server address:
voice.teamspeak.org:8767
voice.teamspeak.org:10050
voice.teamspeak.org:10060
have fun...

ty for the qick repplies.
But if I need TS for a clanwar for my sofII clan do I just set up a new channel on that public server or do I need to down the TS server program? (I really don't know anything about all these things
(Visit our website if ya wanna have a peep @ the clan : www.marines.be.tf
Well it really depends on what you have in mind. You can just create a channel on the public server and protect it with a password.
If you have a resonably fast internetconnection (up and downstream beyond 512Kbit/s) you can try hosting a server yourself.
If you happen to have a shell account on a server (ie your clanserver for sofII) you can install the TS server on this shell (not allways possible to to shell restrictions)
If neither of the above is what you are looking for you might consider renting a TS server. Links to different TS Server Providers can be found on www.teamspeak.org.

We have a clanserver but I dunno if we can install ts on it so I'll first check that out.

well we can't install on our server....
So we will try a private channel on a public server of yours but people already warned me that that the sound quality on those public servers isn't that good at all...
Any solutions for that?
First of all. Did you test it and get bad quality or do you just believe in what others say without testing yourself?
One cannot just say that the public servers have bad quality. I think the main problems people are getting is, that they have a bad ping on the public servers (not really something that is astonishing as Canadian people simply dont ping as good as european people on a german server). Second thing is that the public server can become really crowded but i am not sure if that is going to have any impact on the quality.
If you have a halfway decent internetconnection and a halfway decent ping on the server you shouldnt have any problems with quality whatsoever.
It might be that only the lower (CELP) codecs are available on the public servers though (long time since i have been on a public) which might explain the "bad quality" description.
Should the publics not be good enough for you, the only chance is to rent a server or to find someone with a good internet-connection who is going to provide the server for you.

My brother tested it and since both both have a cable connection and live in the dame location ...
But we will try it nevertheless and I hope that it's fine, otherwise we gotta find a member who is willing to act as server or try smt else. We are already renting a clanserver so I'm not putting anymore money into this... It's just for a game although I like my ckan really much...
