View Full Version : How many can team speak handle
Hi, Im coming from the FS2002 comunity and we are curently using roger wilco for voice. We do online ATC sessions wich get very busy and roger wilco cant really handle it much more. We get lag and people get broken up and stuff. My question is how stable is teamspeak and how many can join a server. Im not sure how it really works as I have no one to talk to yet lol. My question is can one guy host on a ip and have 15 to 20 others join? Will team speak handle this many on a server? The server were using for the game and roger wilco seems to be very stable for us.
heard about one having 50 on ts no probs. dont know specs or codec used though.
If you are going to get a larger capacity server and expect lots of traffic I suggest getting someone to host the server for you. PM me if you want suggestions, but it will definetly make a difference.
the highest i have logged on my servers is 114 users on one server and over 390 users on one machine at same time
wow sounds like it should handle us fine then, thanks guys

but you should make sure that you have a fast upstream... :p

Jens, I would like to know if you needed to use multiple network cards to handle your negotations? I have a concern that 1 network card may not be enough to support 100's of users on 1 machine.

Intesting thought, but i think ;) all 2 network cards would do is give one computer 2 internal ips. If the card caps at 100mbps then thats all you gonna be getin unless you buy a giga nic. Although a Round-Robin might work to randomly send traffic to different nic.

Actually there is some new technology out there that shares that ip on 2 cards to help with load balancing.

Right now proprietary to the OEM of the server.

It's called Load Balancing ;)
AFAIK it's not proprietary to the server but to the network card. Compaq and IBM have cards that can do it. If I remember right they call it "teaming the cards", and you can team them for redundancy and/or Load balancing. I think both of the cards are really INTEL cards, and as far as I remember Intel has a 1000/100/10 (copper) card that can also "team", so you could even load balance on gigabit.
