Hello everyone, teamspeak2 used to work normally on my computer. I stoppped using it for a while, but got back to it, and surprise! impossible to connect to any server except to a friend's sever on his comp(a friend who got the same ISP as me), i get this with the debug mode.

i don't understand at all, i opened amm ports stopped all AV programs and all, but nothing. I read almost all posts in here about the probleme, i just have to add something, even with TS under Ubuntu 8.04 which i have on the same comp does the same error.
So if someone have a magical solution it would be nice, i really need it fixed.
1. try teamspeak server test (teamspeak://tpc.webyt.net/?nickname=you can connect to teamspeak) and ask your friend if he does have same problems.(connecting to other TeamSpeak servers)
2. Try http://ts2test.planetteamspeak.com/ with his server info{ask him about ports}.
post us here results.
it might be your ISP problems.
Where or how are you connected to the internet?? college/campus? ADSL cable? cable? wired? wifi?
what devices do you have between your pc and internet ? modem/router ??? do they have any names?
EDIT to the PMs you posted me ....:
ref. http://forum.teamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=45173&highlight=Timeout+recv+LoginStep2
what router/modem do you use?? try disable DoS protection on it.
>>> if its other scenario I am thinking then try clean up portforward{remove} table on your router.
my bad how could I didnt post a solution back then??
if you cant find it or dont know how/where, or if it doesnt work PM me and we do remote

I could not conect to the server test, same erorr "No reply from server
Maybe the server is offline
or maybe TeamSpeak is not running on it".
Here is the result
The UDP connection test finished without errors!
The UDP test could establish a connection to your TeamSpeak server. Your voice server can be accessed by anybody anywhere on the Internet.
[!!] The TCP connection test finished with errors!
The TCP test could not establish a connection to the specified server.
Possible reasons:
1. You entered an invalid server address or port number.
2. You're using a software firewall or router, which is preventing a connection to the server.

i connect through a Netgear DG834G modem using ethernet, and teamspeak used to work perfectly with that same modem.

thanks for testing(ts2test) my TeamSpeak server but I meant that you check your friend server.
heard about ConnectionTest connecting :-/
yea I know that small restricted area I have is tight in its own way wouldnt you say?
anyway as long as you mentioned NetGear here is what you didnt searched for on this forum :

so that back up my other opinion in post above.
Post also if you fixed the problem.

Oh, my friend just hosted his server for testing between us, it's not up always(never actually^^) and tried disabling DoS and port scan of my DG834G, still the same probleme. i have poor faith in getting through this situation because it's so unclear :'(

After many tests(disabling AVs, firewall) with tomas through remote help, we think it's my ISP having trouble with UDP connections, i could get to connect to my TS servers through VPN tunneling.
So for my problem i'll have to dial my ISP and check with them.
Thanks again for the time and help Tomas

Can you play games over your line? If yes, then UDP *shouldn't* be the problem.. Seeing as 99,9% of the games use UDP packages to transfer there data..
I don't wanna undermine Tomas's help, he knows what he talks about ( sometimes :P )..

yes and that's "THE bug" i play games, used and still using mumble, everything works, except TS, and tomas didn't directly said that UDP is the problem, i was just supposing here. i really want to understand whats wrong.
And one additional information, my 2 friends on the sam ISP than me got the same results, games and all work, but no TS.
Really strange situation here. If someone can figure out this thing, then he's probably a genius xD
anyway, i hope to find an answer, meanwhile i'll use tomas's "turnaround trick".
so my guild won't kick me for now ^^.

good point about that but I also tried UDP VPN tunnel, oposite site was public as long as it was myne and also I could dump it. As for checking teamspeak without tunnel that packets didnt even reacher my router not to mention teamspeak server. Its weird thro because on debug log it said again waiting for recv2 failed.
as for UDP VPN yea that looked like it reached my router(VPN server) but it was unable to "talk" properly to authorize and work at UDP. as far as this didnt worked I can freely assume that UDP is somehow dead or so wrongly configured that it hurts. :DD
as long for a router with a firewall allowance or DMZ set and in windows firewall disabled for that only one NIC, teamspeak didnt worked I also can bet that the problem isnt the router/modem "firewall" itself.(at least I hope lol)
The problem was reported also on his friend connection from same ISP with a different modem as well.
