i finally got around to installing and getting rc2 up and running for our crew.
however, i ran into one problem that has me baffled and is quite frustrating...
i'm running my servers on a Win 98SE box, P2 266, 128 RAM and i'm running the last official release of the server.(nothing from the dev forum).
when i fire up rc2 initially, i get the nice box (and log entries) giving me admin and superadmin passwords.
after deleting the dbs, log, and ini files - or even after a fresh install, when i run the conversion to move my db from rc1 to rc2, the conversion does fine, but it appears no superadmin account is created (no pop up box w/ the pw, no entries in the log file).
when i use a text editor to view the dbs file, i can see logins and pws' for all the converted accounts, but no superadmin account is listed. when i delete the converted dbs, log, and ini files and restart the server - it again gives me the superadmin account info (popup and log) and using a text editor on the dbs file allows me to find a superadmin account and pw.
what am i doing wrong? or is it just that after running the converter, there is no superadmin account created?
any help would be appreciated, as i'm still running my rc1 server for a while and want to run the rc2 in parallel to help smooth the transition.... if i don't have the superadmin account, i cannot change the port of the rc2 server to avoid conflicts w/ the rc1 server (at default port).
thoughts?
